The Inn offers a wonderful range of traditional activities but, given our spectacular location on a living estuary, makes a special effort to celebrate the wonders of nature on our doorstep. Our resident Naturalist organizes and leads a variety of scheduled and impromptu nature-based outings and programs throughout the seasons.
Our Naturalist leads an assortment of informational expeditions on the natural world surrounding the Inn. Guided kayak paddles, bird spotting with our high-end scope, barrier beach walks, fly-fishing seminars, and bicycle trips to Watch Hill and the local glacial park are just a few of the activities you might enjoy during your stay. Inside, regularly scheduled presentations bring the outdoors in and the wonders closer to home.
For more in-depth discovery, the Inn invites experts in a variety of nature-based fields to lead seminars. Some seminars last a couple of hours, while others span a weekend. Topics range from digital wildlife photography and landscape painting to fly-tying and decoy carving.
Weekapaug is a destination for many committed saltwater anglers given our close proximity to highly coveted waters. Our Naturalist is happy to offer pointers or give recommendations regarding the best fishing in town. He is also available for shore-based charters. If you would like to fish by boat, our kayaks and rowboat are available for fishing in the Pond. Additionally, we can hook you up (so to speak) with local guides that can cover the area from Watch Hill and Montauk to Block Island.
