Evening is a beautiful time to enjoy some Rhode Island night sailing. The setting sun illuminates golden marsh grasses, wide horizons show off the full scope of the sunset, and birds are often active, as they feed and then head to their nighttime roosts.
In fall, the transition from sunset to darkness happens quickly, as seen in this photo of our motorboat, InnSight, cruising the pond at night with its port and starboard lights illuminated. Those are the lights of the Inn up ahead. And the small spec of light near the upper right-hand corner? That’s the planet Venus.
