Evening is a beautiful time to cruise the salt pond. The setting sun illuminates golden marsh grasses, wide horizons show off the full scope of the sunset, and birds are often active, as they feed and then head to their nighttime roosts.
In fall, the transition from sunset to darkness happens quickly, as seen in this photo of our motorboat, InnSight, returning to the dock with its port and starboard lights illuminated. Those are the lights of the Inn up ahead. And the small spec of light near the upper right-hand corner? That’s the planet Venus.
