With spring weather close at hand, we are once again activating our fleet of bikes for the season. Weekapaug has some great biking routes, with my favorite being along the coast to Watch Hill – specifically, to the Watch Hill Lighthouse. Lighthouse Point is a long, narrow peninsula that extends into the sea and is surrounded by water. The light not only marks the tip of land, but a treacherous reef system that stretches southwest towards Orient Point and the north fork of Long Island. The view encompasses 340 degrees of water, as well as three states. Connecticut is just three miles to the west; New York is represented by Fisher’s Island just two miles to the southwest; and, of course, you will be standing in Rhode Island. Watch Hill also has a fun village to visit, a terrific ice cream shop to keep you peddling and, of course, our big sister Ocean House. We encourage you to take advantage of our fleet of bikes and the many routes available!
