I wanted to take a break from my usual nature posts to give you a glimpse of the wonderful weekend we had at the Inn celebrating our nation’s independence. Our annual 3rd of July Clambake was filled with clear skies and warm smiles, the evening shone beautifully with guests lounging pondside clustered around the checkered tablecloths.
Fresh, locally-sourced seafood was prepared in the traditional fashion with rosy lobsters peeking from under canvas coverings. As night began to fall, a surprise visit by General George Washington from across the pond, American flag in hand, signaled the night’s crescendo! Ending in splendor, with fireworks set to a patriotic duet by Washington’s minutemen, the 3rd of July Clambake gave homage to another year living under the red, white and blue.
